The 8(a) program is a robust nine-year program created to small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. Businesses that participate in the program receive training and technical assistance designed to strengthen their ability to compete effectively in the American economy. Current and eligible 8(a) certified firms also receive authorization to receive 8(a) sole source direct awards from federal agencies or compete for competitive federal contracts that are set aside exclusively for 8(a) Participants.
Because of the unique benefits of the 8(a) Program, last fiscal year, 8(a) firms located within the Pacific Northwest were awarded over $530 million* in federal contracts. In addition to the contracting benefits of the Program, 8(a) certified firms also receive access to no cost specialized training and assistance as well as the ability to obtain surplus government property.

Who Should Attend?
Small businesses who have been operating for at least 2 years AND;
Are certified as DBE or MBE at the state level and who are currently contracting with or interested in contracting with the federal government;
Small businesses who may be owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged* individuals who are currently contracting with or interested in contracting with the federal government;
Small businesses currently contracting with or are interested in contracting with the federal government but are not sure if they may be owned by a socially and economically disadvantaged individual;
Small Businesses who feel they may be eligible or are otherwise interested in the 8(a) Program

Paso 1: Crea una cuenta en la plataforma educativa Thinkific

Paso 2: Completa la encuesta de inicio para acceder a los productos de GoDaddy que recibirás GRATIS

Paso 3: Canjea tu código para tu dominio y familiarízate con el Website Builder de GoDaddy
Una vez que hayas completado la encuesta inicial, Business Impact NW te enviará un email con tu cupón de canje gratis para obtener tu dominio. También recibirás las instrucciones de como usarlo. También te enviaremos instrucciones para que, en el caso de tener otro web hosting, puedas transferirlo a GoDaddy.
Paso 4: Completar el Módulo de Bienvenida de GoDaddy y al menos 6 cursos
¡Es hora de empezar a aprender!
Las clases son on-demand, y a tu propio ritmo. Haz cada clase cuando tengas tiempo o tus horarios lo permitan.
Las clases están en orden, pero si quieres puedes saltear clases.
Las clases 1 a 4 son para principiantes y es recomendado que sigas ese orden. Si tienes experiencia, puedes elegir los temas que más te interesen.

Step 1: Create your account on the Thinkific Online Learning Platform
Click the link above to enroll as an Empower by GoDaddy entrepreneur. Once enrolled, you will have access to all the Empower by GoDaddy lessons via the Online Learning Platform Thinkific. Classes are FREE and self-paced.
Step 2: Take Kick-off Survey to Access free GoDaddy products
Before beginning your learning, please set aside 5-10 minutes to answer a few questions telling us which FREE products you would like to use as an Empower by GoDaddy entrepreneur. Completing the Kick-off Survey tells us:
If you are interested in being a featured story shared on GoDaddy.
Your current website’s URL. (if applicable)
What type of domain you prefer for your FREE domain redemption code.
Upon completion of steps 1 and 2 you will receive:
Two years of a FREE .com or .org domain from GoDaddy.
Two years of FREE website hosting for GoDaddy website builder e-commerce or basic Managed WordPress.
Two years of one FREE Microsoft 365 Email Essentials account with an email address matching your domain.
Step 3: Redeem Domain Code & Familiarize Yourself with the Website Builder
Once you have completed the Kick-off Survey, Business Impact NW will email you with your FREE domain and email redemption codes, along with instructions on how to redeem.
After you redeem your code, you will be able to start working on publishing or updating your website.
Step 4: Complete the Empower by GoDaddy Welcome Module & View At Least 6 Training Modules

Please begin with the brief 7-question Welcome Survey. This information is collected by Empower by GoDaddy and your individual responses will remain private. Participation is optional.
Classes are On Demand and self-paced and can be viewed as your schedule allows.
The classes are arranged in order, but do not have to be viewed in order.
Viewing classes 1-4 in the order presented before moving on is advised for beginners. More skilled users might prefer to choose specific topics of interest.
We request that you view at least 6 of the 10 available courses before moving on to the next step.
Step 5: Meet Your Mentor
Upon completion of Steps 3 and 4 you will receive an introduction to your Website and Marketing Mentor. Your mentor is available for a FREE 1-hour meeting ($150 value). You decide what topics to cover during your meeting, such as:
Reviewing your current or new website.
Discussing opportunities for growing your digital presence.
Sharing specific concerns or questions you may have.
Step 6: Take Exit Survey
