ABOUT THE EVENT: While Portland often takes the spotlight, most of Oregon is not Portland—and queer life outside the metro area has its own unique challenges and strengths. This virtual event is a space to listen, share, and connect across our diverse communities.
What does it mean to be queer in rural Oregon? How do experiences of identity, community, and business shift outside of urban centers?
Join them for a conversation that goes beyond stereotypes and surface-level assumptions. In this session, you’ll:
- Gain a broader understanding of rural queer experiences.
- Challenge assumptions about rural queer communities and culture.
- Explore ways to strengthen communication between urban and rural queer communities.
- Answer questions you may have about queer rural vs queer urban life in Oregon.
Whether you’re based in the city, the country, or somewhere in between, this session offers insights that can help us build more connected, inclusive communities across Oregon.
