About this Event: The U.S. Small Business Administration Portland District and the Clackamas Small Business Development Center, in support of SBA's National Veterans Small Business Week, is hosting a Federal Contracting Symposium. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from and meet with acquisition representatives from local federal government agencies. Although this event is in support of SBA's National Veterans Small Business Week, all small businesses are welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.

Join SBA's Portland District and Office of Government Contracting, local federal agency acquisition professionals, and resource partners for this unique opportunity to hear from and meet with various federal agencies!

Did you know that the federal government-wide Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business goal was increased to 5% in fiscal year 2024? Additionally, the Department of Veterans Affairs has goals both for Veteran Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that are much higher than the government wide goal. With the federal government spending $600+ billion per year in federal contracts this amounts to billions of dollars going to our Veteran Owned and other small business community.

  • What you Need to Know about Federal Contracting - Resource Panel: SBA's Office of Government Contracting and the network of APEX Accelerators will provide key information on how your small business can position itself for federal contracts.

  • Department of Defense Agency (DoD) Acquisition Panel: Hear directly from local DoD agencies in terms of their mission, the types of goods and services they purchase, as well as upcoming contract opportunities

  • Networking Break: Take a break from all the learning and visit our agency and resource partner booths

  • Civilian Agency Acquisition Panel: Hear from local civilian federal agencies in terms of their mission. the types of goods and services they purchase, as well as upcoming contract opportunities
